I Can't Get You Out of my Head, Pancit.

Since we moved here in Korea, I have never eaten in an authentic Filipino restaurant. I can cook a Filipino dish, of course, but it is not easy when the ingredients are not readily available. I hope there are more Asian stores here that sell items from the Philippines so I can cook my favorite Pancit Palabok. Pancit Palabok is a thick rice noodle Filipino dish. It is a festive mixture of seafood like shrimp, squid, mussels, and crab. The sauce adds succulent flavor to the dish. The smoked-fish flakes and pork cracklings along with colorful veggies make it more flavorful serve with hard-boiled eggs as toppings.

I know what you mean hahaha I can feel you, I crave for it even if my wife cooks it or we can easily buy 1 large " bilao " (native wooven bamboo flat basket), it's realy heavenly lol with " calamansi " ( native lemon) and "Patis" (fish sauce), it goes by several names, Malabon, lug-lug, palabok and variations So sorry for your craving, hope you find authentic ingredients there.

Oh my! That's my favorite also, second to spaghetti among all pasta dishes. It is really understandable that you miss that, because that's one noodle dish loved by Filipinos. I hope you can find an Asian store there so you can cook it and your hubby can have a taste of it. I am sure he will like it. Is he a Vietnamese? My hubby and daughter love pancit palabok too.

@Iam_jauntyjen Oh, he is a Korean. I suppose you meet him here in the Philippines. You made me so envious that your mom's friend cooks the most delicious pancit palabok. Does she put minced chicharon and his sauce is so delicious? The delicious sauce is one thing that can make a palabok taste so good.

My hubby is Korean, He actually has tasted this dish in the Philippines. There's a store owned by my mom's friend where we are a regular customer. Mom's friend cooks out of this world Pancit Palabok. I've tasted other Pancit Palabok but hers is the best.

I know what you mean, I left Italy 42 years ago and many ingredients (real Italian ingredients!) are not available outside Italy.
