This picture was taken at 5 am. Not by me. I was going to say I was asleep, but did wake up around 5:30 for a short while.
A stretch of I 40 will be closed for awhile, and demolition has already begun on a bridge. I have my City's government page liked on facebook, and that is where I got this image.
It is quite odd to see this little stretch of highway deserted.

It is strange to see all those buildings and yet the highway is deserted for a while.

I think sometimes in 2019? I can't recall the full schedule, I'll have to look at it. I won't personally be impacted by it. We always take alternate routes. My friend will have to take an alternate route when coming to my side of the county.
I have never seen the city this quiet. I used to work downtown and even at midnight there were cars going by.

This one wasn't deserted for long, workers started as soon as day broke I believe.

I'm not looking forward to having to contend with the consequences of that closure at 7:30 on Monday morning.

They really got started though! I've seen a few new updates on their fb page.
I am glad I don't have to travel any further than Thruway, and I go back roads. The Transit Authority has supposedly adjusted their schedule and routes and made new ones for those who don't want the headache of driving.
