Ive always loved dogs.. had one all my life.. where ever i lived. But i was always afraid of pitbulls. Seeing stories on the news and tv.. I would never of thought of having one as a pet. last month we agreed to dog sit for my mother and father in law.. They have a 4 year old pit bull named max.. I was afraid to go near him, even in back yard. But afte a few days I realized he was a sweet dog. Then out of the blue my husband said hes ours now.. Because his dad was ill and couldnt take care of max. At first i was like no no. But now i love this dog. And think people just have bad impressions of pitbulls. They are so darn sweet. Im glad we have him now. Love you max..

Because there are people out there that treat certain dogs badly so people get the wrong idea about the dog. I am glad that you saw what a special dog Max is that you took him in and love him very much. I remember hearing how doberman's were bad dogs and then I met one and she was the sweetest dog. It depends on they are treated is how they will turn out.

That is horrible. That is why I say it depends on how the owners raise a dog and also what they feed the dog. I had a lab-husky and she was the sweetest dog and she was not a barker. She was so good. When we were moving out of a place a blind guy did come with his dog to check out the apartment and she would not let the dog in. It was her territory but when we were out walking and if it was the same guy she wanted to play with the dog. I explained to her that the dog was working so could not play with her.

We have had a bull terrier the most loving pet ever. He got on well with the cat and they were best of friends.

It's a good job you don't live in the UK, then! Pitbulls are covered under the terms of our Dangerous Dogs Act - due to incidents of young children being killed by them - and anyone found to own one will face a stiff penalty and the dog will be destroyed.

I know some can be mad dogs. But i think their owners make them that way.
