Why Don't Apple Computers Have Screen Savers or Screen Locks

They do, of course, but you'd never know it if you watch Hallmark Movies. I've noticed one of the standard tropes in Hallmark movies is when one party "discovers" information on the other party's computer that appears to show the first party has been lying to, deceiving, or cheating on the second party. Most often the discovery is some kind of business plan or letter detailing how the second party or the evil conglomerate they work for is going to tear down the old homestead and erect horribly ugly vacation condominiums for rich singles or DINKS (Double Income No Kids). The question that always comes to my mind at this moment is, why hadn't the laptop or computer gone into screen saver mode and if it contained such sensitive business information, why wasn't there a password or facial recognition needed to access the desktop? My wife, on the occasions I voice this question out loud, reminds me that the lack of screen savers and ease of access is due to literary necessititus - our term for things in a script that don't make sense but are needed to move the story along. What is your favorite (or least favorite) questionable plot device used over and over again in movies and TV shows?

Whenever they knock down the bad guy, they never finish the job when the person is down. Of course, the evil one always pops up two seconds later to continue attacking.

Yes! This is one of my pet peeves with action movies. One thing I learned in self-defense training is to make sure the SOB won't ever be getting back up.

I saw a lot of movies where the plots are not realistic anymore. Bullets showered upon the protagonistd but they didnt die still.

Or how the protagonist can hit someone with a shot from a pistol from 200 yards but the bad guy misses from 10 feet away with a scoped rifle.

@Janet357 I suppose it would make for a very short movie if the characters turned and ran away.

@DWDavis yessssss hhahahaha. And also, i keep on asking this one. Why is it when a movie is horror, there’s always smoke when a ghost appears. Also, why do the characters follow them even if they are scared of them? In real life, it’s the opposite. When we see scary sightings, we hide, we dont follow them.

Movies make no sense. @wolfgirl569 is right, in some movies simple pistols hold hundred of bullets, front door always open without using a key and anybody can access other people computers without entering a password, or having to wait that it boots.

I also like how there is no waiting for internet pages to download on computers in the movies.

@DWDavis Exactly! They open an Internet page and navigate from top to bottom smoothly and without waiting. They look all like "science-fiction" movies.
