Washing detergent for front and top load machines.

We seem to get separate washign powders for front and too load washing machines. What is the difference between these? What happens if you use the 'wrong' washing powder?

I have a top loader and honestly I was never picky. It gives me good results.

I'm usually careful to make sure I buy front loader detergent for my machine. There are some which state they are for all washing machines too!!

I don't know what the difference is but I buy the front-washing type for my front-washing machine.

The top loading washing powder is cheaper and the front loading is costlier.. that is the only difference i have noticed.

Surely the front loading detergents bubbles lesser and is safer for front loading machine. It is usually more expensive.
