Microwave repairs - simple but frustrating

My microwave stopped working last week. It can on, whirred and turned but was not heating at all. The technician came within 24 hours to check and just as I had suspected the Magnetron was busted. He said he'd get it the next day, but it's been a week and the part is still unavailable. Very frustrating. The microwave is only 18 months old. Microwaves are inherently simple machines, but it's frustrating when they fail and a common part is not available at the service centre. Has your microwave ever failed?
