Beautiful Kalimba

Have you seen a musical instrument called "Kalimba?" I saw it being sold online, and I got some interest in having one because of the nice tunes it can produce. It is made up of small piece of wood with attached metal tines that has different lengths to produce different tones. It could be a good pastime to play it; could ease boredom even for elder people. Do you also love to play musical instruments? (Photo from Pixabay free images)

It's a lovely and handy little instrument from Africa. It sounds rather like those old-world musical boxes which you used to wind up and that, of course, is because they were really nothing more than mechanical kalimbas. For those like @m_audrey6788 who don't know what it is and how it sounds, this video should give you an idea!
The Kalimba sounds like a little music box and Elvis Presley's Can't Help Falling In Love felt like a perfect fit for this instrument. I play a 17 key Kalimb...

yes I've heard that instrument, but I'm not interested in having it, but if you want to have it it's very good, hopefully it will be something that is very pleasant for you

Yes, it looks like it is a beautiful percussion instrument that produces nice tones, and easy to carry anywhere.

I saw it and heard it when we visited Prague and Budapest. It has a lovely sound. I can play the piano very badly.

@acelawrites I took lessons for 8 years and still can't sit down and play anything. I blame it on lack of natural talent.

@DianneN it could be; but maybe you have different talents which you had nurtured.

It is one of my frustrations; not being able to learn to play the piano!

I have to look up Kalimba. I do not have any talent either in playing musical instruments or singing or dancing. But I love to listen and watch .
