Some days you just have to put your phone across the room

I need to be away from social media today, and honestly turning my phone off doesn't work as I'll just turn it right back on. Instead I've put it across the room from me.
Today, I have decided, is about me. This time of the year is always harder for me. It's when my anxiety and depression kick in. Today, I've decided, I am going to worry about me. That means turning on music that relaxes me. That means putting my phone across the room.
It also means distracting myself with housework and online work. It means applying to places for employment.
It means possibly going to the thrift store and using the rest of my gift card. That part I haven't decided yet.
What do you do when you need to unplug?

Oh, I was still online earning but I had to get away from social media. I am trying to find a job, but in the meantime what I can make online helps tremendously.

It's been too cold to go outside lately. I have been playing a video game though. I'm not much for video games, but sometimes one comes along that I absolutely love. This one is About the Wild West, and I love it. It's a good distraction from some problems that have been going on here lately.

That period of time should be about family anyway. I don't know what exactly I'll be doing this year, it seems it changes from year to year. My phone pings when I get an email in my gmail account but it's not my primary email. I check my primary email through my laptop.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I check my email through my desktop computer. We have no more family, I know we will be alone. I only have one brother and I am well if he is not around.

My phone is my constant companion, mostly because I use it as a camera a lot!

Oh yes, my phone is my camera. I used to have a Cannon Camera but I used it for awhile and then quit using it.

My phone is plugged in in the kitchen, because I use it for hotspot.So I only check it when I go into the kitchen, or if I hear it go off.

I keep my phone in my room unless I am counting steps. If I'm in the kitchen or the den, it stays in my bedroom. I have a friend that I think had to purchase a separate device to boost the signal for her as she lives in a rural area. It's not a hotspot per se, but I think it can be used as one. She has internet with centurylink otherwise.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I use my phone as a hotspot. Which is why I pay 75 a month for service. I just really have no need to carry it with me at home unless I am using it or counting steps.

Yeah, I wasn't counting mylot as social media. Mylot's sort of my "Dump Everything" place, and I couldn't be without it for long, unless I have gotten bored of it for awhile.
