It would cost me less to have it shipped from the UK than it would for me to have it shipped from PA!

Good Morning. I've re-written this twice to make it as short as possible. I like baked beans. I like beans on toast. I could get Heinz Baked Beans from a store here, but they are cheaper online. Especially considering there are other things I could get. Went to one stores site (they are in Pennsylvania) and it would cost me MORE to have it shipped from Pennsylvania than it would to have it shipped from the UK. I put three baked beans and three terry's chocolate orange bars in both carts. It would cost $31.00 to have it shipped from PA and that's WITH a discount code (10% off). It would cost $27.33 to have the same items shipped from the UK to me. There is a store in California that I just noticed, I need to do some research to see if it would be worth trying them out. They didn't have what I wanted though.

Yikes, I wouldn't pay that! I would get a can of beans from the store..and find the chocolate bars somewhere else.

Sure, but the chocolate bars "somewhere else" are going to set me back $6.00. The chocolate oranges are around $6.00 in stores but the chocolate bars are only $1.50 a pop and I usually only get two at a time.

@ScribbledAdNauseum That still is 12 bucks as opposed to 27.. Better yet, you could wait until after Christmas when they will be on sale.

@snowy22315 THey won't be. These items are brought in via Hadden House, which is a vendor. I am sure it's the same for any store out there. Vendor items are rarely marked down.

You can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think any American company makes just beans in tomato sauce, do they? A couple of years ago I got into the habit of making beans on toast, eggs and bacon every morning. I did this for about a month before I got tired of it every morning for breakfast.

@Courage7 "Dear Bush's Baked Beans - Have you ever tried beans with just tomato sauce? Let us consumers add the worcestershire." Sincerely, Trust me, a lot of people would be all over that.

that certainly is crazy for shipping either from Pa or from the UK. Hope you can find your beans somewhere else that doesn't require an exorbitant amount for shipping.

Beans aren't the only thing I'd be getting. I could just see the faces of the packers as they packed ten cases of beans and only beans. Also, no, I don't plan to get ten cases. five should be enough.

Considering the weight of a tin of beans, the cost of shipping from the UK seems VERY cheap. I'm not surprised by the domestic shipping costs though ... you seem to pay extortionate postage over there! I haven't seen any of Terry's Chocolate Oranges in the shops this year, yet. Maybe you all have them over there!

I have used the same company in PA before and they haven't charged me so much for a package. I've even bought tins of beans and a few can of soda and it still wasn't that much. The company in the UK offers 19.99 GBP in shipping costs. I forget what the weight limit of the package is though. The Terry's Chocolate Oranges are expensive here! The store I used to work for sold them for $5.99 and there is a candy shop in the mall that has them and I believe they are more expensive. The PA company has chocolate orange bars year round and I will sometimes get a couple of those.
