Thought I had new book sales only to realize they were my own purchases

I went to Lulu to check if I had any new book sales and got excited when I saw that there were two sales.
My excitement faded instantly when I realized that these sales are for the two copies of one of my books I purchased myself.
Of course this means I made nothing as authors don't make any money when they buy their own books.
And I didn't really get two new sales...
Oh well. Maybe I will get some new sales soon...
I sometimes forget that when I buy my own books this info shows up in the sales stats. Gotta remember that.

At least a potential buyer will see that the book has sold. Don't worry. You will soon make sales

I wonder if my own purchases on Lulu increase my books' sales rank... And as far as sales ranks go, especially on Amazon, I wonder if it is best to not have a sales rank or have one that is very low... But then again no sales rank means no sales.

I think in order to get sales, you need to promote it. Of course you aren't supposed to promote at my lot, but you could talk about the book, and discuss the purchase process answer questions etc. Other people do that.

These sales were for the new book I published. I did not yet tell people it is out. I have to look over the proof copy first... to make sure that everything is all right with it. Then I will tell the world. I wish I was an expert on book promotion. My book sell but not in the numbers I want.

I am thinking of just letting people read my latest ebook for free just so people might read it. But maybe I need to write a new ebook and start over with a new title and new topic and make it better as I need more practice writing myself. I had to laugh when you said you thought you sold 2 books when you bought them yourself.

I regularly check my sales data on Lulu. And there have been many times when this happened to me... I kinda wish that when I bought my own books that the sales wouldn't appear in the same stats as sales from actual buyers.
