Life skill..

I always emphasize on life skills more than academic skills. Today I felt so proud as a parent. I entered home and was surprised to see it all tidy up. I left it in mess in morning before rushing to hospital. My daughters did a good job. They have their exams going on but still they found time to tidy up home and cook a simple nutritious dinner of vegetable rice and pulses for all. So I had no cooking to do. I just relaxed with a shower and ate a simple home cooked meal by them. They spent their evening so responsibly. I am proud that I never treated them like guests in the house and made them do chores from an young age. Life skills are as important as academic skills.

I agree that both life skills and academics go hand in hand. You did a mighty fine job! I truly hope your MIL will recover soon.

MIL is much better now. Thank you. Academics without life skill is of no use. It is like you know the technicalities of swimming but can not step into water.

Actually life skills are probably more important than academic skills. You have very responsible daughters.

I think the situation is the best teacher. The family situation where they are growing up is helping them to be responsible.

Life skills are equally important. We see it before us. Those children who learned life skills managed their life better.

I always say that one can have many educational degrees, but street wise is also useful.

Very true. Degrees do not assure that you can handle your life well but life skills do.
