It is one thing for any of us to feel the temptation to take money from a parking lot at a Kroger store or any supermarket chain even it is called stealing in the eyes of the law. Kevin Ogawa is being called a Good Samaritan after he found a "bundle of cash" to the management of a Kroger's store in Fishers Indiana on Saturday. Kevin admitted that he was tempted to steal the money but after he thought that the owner of the money in the parking lot needed it more than he does, he made the right call to return the money. Due to privacy issues, the amount of money that was turned into the Kroger store in Indiana was not revealed. The person who claims that the money that was lost belongs to him or her must prove to the police that the lost money belongs to him or her since their are some "unique characteristics" of the missing money. It is better to return lost money and just hope that the lost money is not claimed after a certain amount of time to be given to the person who found it since it beats going to jail as a thief.

It depends. If it was cash, I am not sure I would be as good a Samaritan. Sometimes I tend to feel like money just comes to certain people in mysterious ways. But I still applaud this gentleman for doing what he did. That being said, I am not certain it is stealing if you find it, and it has no obvious owner.

That is a good point about lost money that is not claimed.

@Deepizzaguy ...now, if it's money found in a wallet, that's a bit different. There have been two occasions in my life where I have found a $20 bill on the ground. It was cash, there was no way to determine who dropped it, and so into my pocket it went.

That is so true since being honest is better than being arrested for being a crook.

That's sounds good that there are still people who's willing to return things that they didn't own

It beats having family fights over money like in one episode of "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" when a couple fought over money that was stolen. They both would up deceased after the wife found out that her husband stole the money in the streets of New York City.

You made a good point in that, under the law, people who find such things as bags of money are obligated to turn the found items in to authorities or they can be charged with theft. As I taught my children and teach my students - Finders Keepers, Losers Weepers is not legally correct.

It is easier to make money honestly by working instead of living inside a jail cell for robbery.

You know as much as I could always use some extra cash if I found any I also would turn it in. That is for two reasons one being that I would put myself in the position of having lost this money and needing it back so I would be grateful if someone turned it in and second something which I have often thought about what if the bundle of cash I have found was stolen in the first place and what if it is counterfeit and I get caught when I go spend it.

That man is thoughtful he did not only think about himself but also about the person who lost the money.

I remember an article in a religious magazine called "It's Not Your Money" which states that money that is stolen hurts the person who lost the money and never having it returned due to a thief.

That is true since the authorities will find out if the money is stolen and take the thief to prison.

Doing what is correct is not easy. However I am sure Kevin will be rewarded for his honesty by either the officials of the city or the person who lost the money.
