Overcoming a stiff resistance by the lower order Aussie batsmen, India beat Australia by 31 runs in the first test match of the series at Adelaide. For India, Cheteshwar Pujara in first innings, K.L.Rahul, Virat Kohli and Rahane in second innings and the bowlers Ashwin, Bumrah, Shami and Ishant contributed usefully. Australia had an upper hand in the match at times. Two vital stats: 1. Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant equalled world record 11 catches in the match. 2.Virat Kohli has won matches in Australia, England and South Africa, better than Rahul Dravid and Dhoni. Congratulations to India. It is good that Australia fought back and didn't just capitulate.
