You Can't Say That! The Case of the Extreme Filters

Been watching a lot of Sherlock Holmes episodes lately. Each episode is The Case of something or other.
I was typing up a response to a discussion and when I hit the button to publish, RED LETTERS POPPED UP! Oh no! The Lord is speaking to me!
I'm like: “What? What do you mean 'Fix bad words!'”
It turns out there was a typo in my comment and it was profanity. Typing has never been my forte.
Then I thought to myself:
~ Wait a minute! Suppose that word is not considered foul language in another language. It's an English word. But suppose it's a word in another language spelled that way and the person is not cussing! LOL.
I realized that I was over-analyzing. I guess these filters are sort of necessary to keep the environment from becoming hostile.
I'm OK with the filters here. But I was at another site where the filters were turned up to the GAZOO! I couldn't say anything! Even if I said “Nice job!”, it would give back a response: 'Can not post. Words not allowed.' It was totally stupid!
What aggravated me even more was that other members were able to post comments on the wall with no problems. I know they were able to post because I could see and read their comments. While some members expressed to me – in another network that they were having problems posting too. That made me think it wasn't the filter but the member profiles that had been flagged.
Am I over-analyzing? Has my paranoia kicked in?
At any rate I was NOT to going to argue with the site owner; especially since the site owner wasn't responding to messages anyway. I just forgot about it and moved on. The owner still allows me to have blogs at the site and since the blogs are monetized with affiliate links I hope they will generate income. Although I'm not sure if anybody can leave comments with those weird extreme filters turned on.

Just me … babbling. Had to get those “voices” out of my head.

In the news, some people lose their jobs over words.

I'm OK with using machines and computer programs for lots of reasons. They cut down on your workload. They assist with repetitive tasks. Etc. But when people place total reliance on them and you can't get beyond a screen OR some people even lose their jobs because a computer "flagged" them as suspect ... then there is something wrong with the human that placing that much reliance on a tool that's just supposed to help them. The tool is the one that should make all the critical decisions for them! Isn't that what you have a brain for?

@cmoneyspinner I am EXACTLY like you. I love to use a computer, it spares me a lot of work, but totally relying on a machine is ridiculous. Have you seen what comes out as text from those who rely on the "auto complete" features of their phones? People should learn to use a bit more their brain.
