Been Caught Stealing

So yesterday I read this news article that made me laugh so much. The story is about two nuns from California that were caught "misappropiating" funds from the church. So I was thinking maybe they took funds that were suppose to go to the less fortunate and they used it on new candles or maybe tuition assistance money on a new nativity scene. Nope I was just a bit off they used it for a gambling spree in Vegas. That is right the story says how they "misappropiated" $500,000 to go gambling. So much of this story made me laugh... I'm not Catholic but I believe there is something about not stealing in the Bible and maybe even something about not gambling? I also like how they didn't call in stealing in the article they kept referring to it as misappropiating funds. Where I come from we call it stealing. The story did remind me of a song called Been Caught Stealing by Jane's Addiction. If you want to see a funny video watch the original video for this song. It came out in 1990, but the video is kind of comical. I also found this interesting, "The monsignor, Michael Meyers" - umm, his name is what? "said the church and archdiocese have chosen not to press for criminal charges against the sisters." Ok, first if your unfamiliar with the name Michael Meyers take a look at the movie series, Halloween. He is the killer in the movies. I just found it funny they have the same name. Second, they are not pressing criminal charges? They stole half a million dollars and no charges? wow, just wow. So you all have seen it, it's all over the internet, when someone has something go bad in life, or a sickness or death in the family people are replying "thoughts and prayers". It's so over used I find it funny now, why even post anything that the same old "thoughts and prayers". Well, these two nuns wanted to let us all know...the deep remorse they each feel for their actions and ask for your forgiveness and prayers. Really, "forgiveness and prayers"? Maybe I'm a bad person but all I pray is that you have to pay it all back and spend sometime in jail like the thieves you are. You stole money from a church, your nuns, you went gambling with it. Sometimes reading the news is so entertaining.

We will all be judged one day... A sin is a sin-whether it be lying, cheating, stealing, adultery or murder in God's eyes it's all equal. Even nuns, priests, pastors and evangelists sin. None is better than another.

@Bensen32 We all know right from wrong but we all still sin. We do all do things we shouldn't at times.

I read that on online about stealing and gambling. Poor people starving and they choose to spend money for themselves. But yes, I am laughing too. Even I found that post first from 9gag.

Stealing is stealing, no matter what they call it. Why are nuns above the law?

Agree, I'm not sure why they are not in more trouble, I guess cause the church wants to forgive. They are turning the other cheek :)
