I was thinking (looking at an old picture of my dad and (I so desperately wanted ot to learn how to skip a stone on the surface of the water as my dad did.)! I still remember the rock lifting off the surface of the water again and skipping two or three more times before sinking below the surface. You have to find the perfect rock. It is a journey and a process. I still want to skip rocks when I see a clear surface of the water in front of me! Have you ever skipped rocks?

@DocAndersen That's awesome! Sounds like an awesome father & son time! I just never had anyone to teach me how to do it

My dad taught me, and then I practiced! I wanted to be as good as my dad. We used to count the skips, whoever had the most won for the day!

When my parents had their cottage on the St Laurence River in Quebec, we did that all the time.

Make a thin stone, then slightly tilt 30 degrees and throw it on the surface of the water. Enjoy that memory.

I've tried a few times. It's harder than it looks. As you say, you have to find that perfect rock.
