Sending out old Christmas cards

I was rummaging through piles of stuff in my drawers when I chanced upon a stock of old and unused Christmas cards. My sister sent them to me 3 or 4 years ago because she's had way too many Christmas cards to use already. These cards were from the Alberta Cancer Foundation. My sister had been an ACF donor for some years and she got the Christmas cards from the foundation. I'm now sending these cards to friends this holiday season. Do you send out Christmas cards? Would you patronize charity holiday greeting cards?

Yes, that's true. I used to send and receive a lot of Christmas cards too. The past few years, it's dwindled down to about 2 or 3 cards. I'm thankful I still get them at all.

I find that sad since I grew up sending and receiving holiday cards from family and friends. There's something so heartwarming seeing the handwriting of the sender and those pictures enclosed,, etc. I try to stick to this old-fashioned practice even though I'm always late at the post office! :o/

Wow, that's so nice of you, Valerie. Do you go to the post office yourself to mail those cards?

@almostoveryou No, I put them on my box in the hall and the mail lady collects them when she brings the mail.

i like cards that have some stories (kwento) in them. not just a greeting and signature. i'm imagining you being an artist put special touches in those cards

Oh i tried card making but came out way too lazy to make several painted ones. And I realize I prefer those designed by others so I buy them.

It's always a good idea to make your own. Do you make them by hand or do you print out from your computer?

I don't know as I've ever seen charity cards. I've not sent out cards in years. Maybe I will again one day but not at present. I thought you were reusing cards you'd gotten from others and had to read over your title again.

The cards became old because they'd been in my stash for some years.

No, I do not send a Christmas card, because it's not a custom in our faith.
