"No Packages?"

United States
December 17, 2018 5:13pm CST
I walked outside and to the end of my driveway where I waited on the mail carrier to approach. He handed me several pieces of mail and I handed him my own to be posted. "No Packages?" I asked, a disappointed frown appearing on my face. He gave me a knowing look, I'm sure he's had that question put to him several times this season. "No, but there's several other trucks with packages so it might come today yet." I certainly hope so. One package indicates it is "Out for Delivery." Are you waiting on something to arrive?

The tracking just switched to saying delivered. I am hoping that both the packages I am expected will be delivered today.

@Courage7 If they were delivered then they were? I had been expecting two packages but only one was able to be tracked. Oh and they did.

No not waiting but be sure to check around your house, we have had packages delivered at our garage before and didn't find it until the next day.

The tracking just switched to saying "delivered" . THe way our house is set up, it would be rather dumb if they were to go to another door. We have a front porch which is teh closest, then a side door and a back door.

@CarolDM Oh, I defintiely appreciate your advice. Anything is possible, especially with places like amazon and walmart hiring out their own carriers.

Yes, I did receive it. I made a discussion about it which included a picture of the stuff. I will get one from amazon tomorrow though. Or I hope I do. Has the postal workers stopped their strike in Canada?

One day I'm going to try giving my post to the postman instead of taking it to the post box. I wonder what he'd say. I love the way you can do that!

I live down a cul de sac. Our postal carriers seem to be rather late with our mail. We are lucky if they have arrived before 4. Most of the time it's closer to 7. I am sure your postal carrier would probably be a bit surprised to see you there. Are your boxes all congregated together at the end of a road? Rural areas here do that.

The wait is annoying, isn't it? Even if it is gifts.

@hillhjill I feel as if I get even more anxious now. Things aren't just delivered via ups, usps and fed ex anymore.

I received it about 15 minutes ago now. Now I just have to figure out how to wrap it all and then where to set it for safe keeping until Saturday.
