indonesia, during dutch era was called Netherlands Indies and consisted of hundred small kingdoms. some area during the era was under direct government of Netherlands Indies and some was semi-autonomy under local kings. but after the indonesia got its Independence, almost of all the kingdoms submitted their sovereignty to indonesian governemnt and the noble family turned into common people, no more power and special right. but we still have one royal family which renowned and acknowledged and have special right. he is the king of Jogja province (the official name of the kingdom is ngayogyokarto hadiningrat) , a province in java island, the royal family still have their own throne and governorship chair from generation to generation. the specialty was given because of it's huge and priceless contribution in the early of of republic indonesia. the picture depicts the current sultan/governor of jogja. sri sultan hamengku buwono x of ngayogyokarto hadiningrat (the branch of Mataram Kingdom)
