As a very enthusiastic resident of the State of Colorado, I am counting down my favorite bands with Colorado ties, and we are at #5, with one that you actually may have heard of: Firefall.
One of Colorado's greatest commercial musical successes, Firefall formed in Boulder in 1974, the brainchild of former Flying Burrito Brothers guitarist/songwriter Rick Roberts (he replaced the legendary Gram Parsons in that band) and guitarist Jock Bartley (who had replaced the great Tommy Bolin in another Boulder band, Zephyr, when Bolin split to join the James Gang, and later, Deep Purple.) Despite numerous lineup changes (due to illness, Roberts retired from performing in 1992,) Firefall is still going strong.
Best known for their hits "You are the Woman" (#9 on the Billboard Hot 100,) "Just Remember I Love You" (#11,) "Strange Way" (#11,) and "Goodbye, I Love You" (#43,) Firefall released a total of 11 Hot 100 charting singles, and their 1976 self-titled debut album is the fastest record to achieve gold record status in Atlantic Records history.
Firefall. Making Colorado proud since since 1974!

There’s a band that I really really really love that’s in the Colorado Music Hall of Fame. Wonder if they’ll make your list. (Nah.)
Firefall was a good band in that harmony/country-rock vein that I love so much.

I had to look it up. To be honest, I really didn't know that they had moved here. I just thought that they came here a lot.

A terrific lineup! Larry Burnett was the other songwriter of this terrific band
Great pop-rock country sound which was a big part of the 70's music....

I saw them for free. One Saturday afternoon back in the 90's they put on a free show in the Denver suburb of Arvada. They sound just as good live as on the albums!

They still get played on the radio, depending, of course, on the station/format. Good band.

The Flying Burrito Brothers are a legendary country rock band. Gram Parsons, Eagles bassist Timothy B. Schmidt both came out of that group.
