Our Christmas dinner was a large buffet of a variety of foods. Everyone brought something. If you left the table hungry it was your own fault. There was so many types of food you couldn't help but find something you liked. There was so much left over that we all got a big container of food to take home with us. Looking at it now, I don't think I will have to cook for the next couple of days. Today I saw my doctor and she was once again not pleased with my test results. I did what I was supposed to but I guess it is too little too late. One of the things she was most disturbed about was my bad cholesterol results. Unfortunately it was so high they couldn't get a reading. This comes after I followed the diet to the letter and took all that medication. I don't know what they will do next but, I will be happy if it make that bad cholesterol go down. Anyway, I was so good on Christmas about eating only what I could that was on my diet. Hopefully they will come up with an idea. Hope everyone is happy and healthy.

You are very disciplined Susan. I am sorry to hear of the results. Which tells me you should have eaten what you like lol No left overs here we did not cook. We are just eating some macaroni right now with broccoli..nice.

Sounds like a nice dinner. Now that you mention it I wish I had eaten what I wanted. My feelings are, if you have to do without you need to show some kind of improvement.

MY cholesterol never responds to diet, I take Crestor which lowers it like crazy.

@HazySue Have you tried Crestor, it works differently than Lipitor and other statins.

I wish it did mine. They can't seem to find anything that really lowers it.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Being sick is not fun, especially during a holiday. I hope you and yours feel better really soon.

Oh my, I hope you get it under control. It is not always about the food you eat. sometimes it is completely genetic. Leftovers here too.

I am hoping they find a solution. It's no fun staying away from foods I'd like to be eating and showing not showing improvement.

There was enjoyment here in Miami on Chrsitmas day. Oh how much enjoyment. The sounds outside of my window. The many noises from the scooters and other toys. Enjoyment! What a word huh?

I sure hope your doc can figure out how to get your cholesterol down. We also had a lot of leftovers from Christmas Eve dinner which we always eat again on Christmas day after opening gifts. Still sent home plates of food and had it again today for lunch. Threw the rest of it away, we're tired of it by now! But thankful to have all that good food.

We gave some to one of our neighbors, a mother and daughter. They were happy to get them and we were happy to give them.

I'm beginning to think that the 'normal' cholesterol reading varies from person to person but of course I don't know that.

My family tends to have high cholesterol readings. I think she is so concerned with it because of hows it may be effecting my other medical issues.

It is one of the common problems during Christmas, with all the food, etc. on the table; one can forget his diet regimen!

Christmas is the hardest time of the year for me to follow any kind of diet plan. I did better this year than I normally do, thank goodness.
