We have a lot happening in January

I’m looking forward to catching up with friends over New Year and in fact, January looks like being a good month for us with plenty of entertainment on the horizon. The Summer Film Festival will be held in Bunbury, our nearest city from January 9 to February 10.
Twelve films in total will be screening with three being shown each Thursday, Friday and Saturday at either 2 pm, 5.30 pm or 8 pm. So there is plenty of opportunity to see the film of your choice at a convenient time. We would hopefully see most of them although we skip some genres. Luckily we get a pensioners’ discount.
On January 29, we are hiring a house-boat for three days/two nights. It is our Christmas present to each other. We can toddle up and down the Murray River (that’s the one in Western Australia, not the one over east) or just moor in a nice spot and read books or play games. That’s probably enough excitement for one month, don't you think? But guess what? I totally forgot we have another house concert at the Music Shack on January 19. I think I might need to make a list.

One outing with you is good enough. No more. I am not much of a social animal

We will enjoy being on the river I think. But at that time of year it could be quite hot.

@sunrisefan I might have to dangle my toes in the river.

@JudyEv I'm sure the water in the river will help cool the surroundings.

That sounds amazing. And I have to remember - this is your summer. Have you done a house boat before? Sounds fun! I would like to try it. And that film fest sounds good too. I'm happy you guys keep busy with the things you love

January is looking like being pretty involved. The house-boat should be lots of fun.

@judyev Messing about on the river in a house boat sounds so relaxing. Looks like we'll go to Sligo for a couple of nights of doing very little other than checking that their whiskey is still up to standard - I'll be 61 on the 5th. My brother who was in Perth recently has gone back to France after having got me all wound up about buying a house near him in Normandy when I retire - they are relatively cheap, certainly compared to Ireland so long as you go rural rather than urban which is exactly what I want to do. I am great at dreaming.

I just learnt yesterday that a couple I knew from work have bought a 'chateau' in France and spend six weeks in each country. I could easily live in France but it's not going to happen. I would be seriously sussing it out if I were you. It's so much easier to access/research from where you are than from Australia. And a very Happy birthday for the 5th if I forget by then. You're only a spring chicken compared to me.
