Did you buy a Sony camcoder in 1998?

As I was looking up some information on the world wide web I came across some startling news. I thought I will share it here with you..
In 1998 the electronics giant Sony sold a whopping 700,000 camcorders. If you had bought one around that time you would have been in for a great surprise. Seemingly the company carelessly/accidentally sold those camcorders which had special lenses that use infrared rays meant for night vision, however these lenses also allowed you to see through some kind of clothing.. so you could have become a voyeur without intentionally trying to be one.
This made Sony recall all their camcorders, but people learned new tricks from sony's mistake and made their own filters to fulfill their lustful desires.
What would you have done if you had bought a Sony camcorder at that time?
I guess I bought mine exactly a year later..

Even If I wasn't gonna use it for lustful matters, I would never return my camcorders at all. Lol I wonder if all those people who bought it back then still use them or keep them around.

@sofssu LOL I bet too. What a huge mistake right? I never knew about this, it's a curious fact from 20 years ago. WOW, time flies, 20 years ago I was watching Pokemon at home :O

No, didn't. We had a digital camera which is hiding somewhere now.
You are a good photographer so the mobile phones are not good for you ,I guess
Would hate one in the hands of unscrupulous persons .

@responsiveme I guess the digital cameras came much later if I am not mistaken.. Like you I would want the camera to get into the hands of those Unscrupulous individuals.. But sony had given the idea for people to create one already and refused to own up to the mistake.
