Wow Two Whole Responses

Been really busy working, harvesting firewood and trying to build my woodworking business. On my Youtube channel MFCP Woodworking, I decided to run a hair stick giveaway and it hasn't garnered a whole lot of attention. I'm going to give away a pair of my triangular profiled hair sticks. All respondents have to do is subscribe, comment and share. So far I have a grand total of two people in the draw for next weekend. Doesn't look like I'm going to waste much paper making ballots to put in the hat. I'm a little disappointed in the response but I've learned a lot just running this. Lesson number one is that I have to spend more time preparing my promotional campaign because I didn't have time to do much and the results to this point show. Lesson two is that my timing sucks. A draw time frame of just before Christmas till just after New Year's probably wasn't a good idea. I'll get better. I have a couple of future giveaways in mind and hopefully, I'll get a better response then. I will be following through with it at any rate. Next week is the draw and whoever the winner just has to provide the shipping information so I can send it out. I am willing to send them anywhere in the world. Since I obviously have a lot to learn on this count any advice from fellow mylotters is most appreciated.

I never got the mechanics of giveaways in youtube videos. Like how do you pick the winner and how do you know hiw/her mailing/shipping name and address.

I will write all the usernames of the responders on pieces of paper and put them in my hat. I'll sucker my daughter into pulling out the winning ballot. The winner will be announced in a video. I will try and message them so that they provide the needed shipping information. If they won't tell me, I don't know and then I'll have to pick another winner.

@yoalldudes I'll be doing it next weekend. We'll make a video of the event and post it. I have seen other YouTubers do the same thing. There are a few who do it for the attention and then never give out the prizes. That hurts everyone else.

Anything dealing with social media and such is a learning process. I hope it has gotten easier for you.

I'm totally ignorant about those kinds of endeavors. I'm just happy being able to earn $5 egift cards every few months.

Thank you. The big challenge is to connect with my target market.
