How much does others opinion about you affect your mood. Many of our neighbours and friends do not like us. Do we have to feel bad about what they say about us? I just dont care and just continue with my work in office. I dont get upset if a colleague does not like me. After all as this picture says... I am not here to entertain people!!!

That is a good way to be. I try not to let it bother me but it usually does. I have gotten better about it over the past few years but it still bothers me a sometimes;

Opinions matter if those who opine have a role to play in your life such as parents, boss and life partner

It all depends on what the subject matter is. 99.9% of the time I don't.
There is something called constructive criticism. Constructive criticism can be a good thing.
When given in the right context, can help you be a better person!
An opinion. Not so much. Everybody has one of those!!

I hide my beliefs and a lot about myseld due to some bad past experience. When you dont conform to the norm, even my job can be affected and I dont want to losr my job, get the ire of my boss, or outcast in the workplace.

I have mix feeling about that.
If they are the one that I can believe on but later on they hurt me, then I will feel sad. This include those people like to voice out there opinion load enough and heard by others then I will feel humiliated.
Some how you still need to learn from mistake when their opinion is true. At first I will feel sad or angry about it, I need to strong enough to accept it and move on my life.

Yes, what others think about me certainly does effect me and my mood. But there are times when I need to ignore what others think about me.

I understand and agree with what is said in your picture.
I wish that I could say that I am like that, but I am too sensitive to honestly make that claim myself. Things said or looks given to me that are unfavourable really do bother me.
I guess that I'm just an old softie who does unto others as I would have other do unto me, and when that doesn't happen, it hurts.

No, I don't worry about people's opinion either, especially if they are shallow. IF those people are wisemen/women, then if they have some opinions about me, I would love to hear and know in order to change myself to the better. (If I ever find out that they are wise, but wrong even once, then I am not sure I will worry. )

There are very few people whose opinions matter to me and they are mainly family (but not all of my family)
