Without wanting to appear sexist woman are known for the propensity to lie about their age usually in an attempt to appear younger than they are but both sexes will lie about their age for a variety of reasons.
1) In an attempt to be served alcohol in a bar when they are too young;
2) To a member of the opposite sex in an attempt to appear more mature;
3) In an attempt to gain entry to a movie they are too young to watch;
4) In an attempt to gain an age-related discount at a movie or theme park;
5) As a way of gaining acceptance by a peer group.
These are just some examples of why we might lie about our age especially when we are young and desperately want to appear older and be given access to that wonderful world of adulthood.
Well what about you? Come on - let's hear those tales of lying through your teeth to get that beer!

I am guilty. I lied when I was a teenager to get into bars and I also lied when I went to a movie theatre to movies that I was too young to see.

I have not always been truthful in my lifetime, but I've never lied about my age.

I was never one to really lie about my age as when I was younger I looked older, but now today I tell everyone that I'm forever 29 lol.
