Gossip as a form of entertainment

There's honestly something so fascinating about reading gossip--yes, reading, and not exactly participating. I personally dislike being part of drama that can cause gossip and such--being an avoidant when it comes to attention--but reading people's thoughts on a particular subject and seeing people, usually anonymous ones online on gossip websites, is really entertaining. What people say about something reveals a lot about themselves--and one of the things I have found that makes the worst, or the best, in people is when you make them comment on some kind of gossip or drama you've heard. Their opinions can be fascinating and can be stemming from a lot of things--experiences, the influence of others, self-realisation and such--and maybe that's what makes gossip so entertaining. Sometimes it's not the gossip or drama or whatever itself, but sometimes it's what the gossipers, the people, say. Thoughts? I hope I'm not alone in thinking this lol

It is truth. Through the gossip, you can see the mindset of the people who do the gossip and their thoughts.

I fully agree with @indexer, most of the time gossip it not kind. People spread fake news and the facts are exaggerated at every passage.

Gossip can be kindly, but more often is not! It is a prime source of "Chinese whispers" - stories that grow in the telling as they are passed on down a chain of gossipers.
