Someone Farted in Your Room: "What Would Be Your Reaction?"

This morning, I am having a class with a 13-year-old student. It is a 1:1 classroom-type class. As we are having a class, the student deliberately farted inside the classroom and he even locked the door. It was a terrible situation since I need to ask for assistance. Thus, I need to endure the foul smell of this young teen. When we got our help and I told him not to do it again; it is not good to fart in public. Better yet, he needs to excuse himself and do it outside the room. "Have you experienced this kind of situation?" "Did you ever fart unintentionally in the public?" "How to fart in public?" This is something extremely rude and not at all accepted in our culture. Consider that it is more or less like peeing in public in the middle of a room.

I agree. I think it is not really acceptable. If I can only hit this boy, I will do it.

the parents can be informed about it. They can ensure it never happens again.

That was rude on his part, inexcusable. However, when it happens, as it will unintentionally, the person should excuse themselves and if possible take it outside the company of others.

I agree. If it is unintentionally, then it would be acceptable.

I also noticed my baby nephew farted a lot and there is no smell at all. However, if he poops, I can't explain it.

At his age he should know that it is wrong to do so in public but I hear in countries such as China, you are allowed

@Janet357 Do you think it is fine? If it is done unintentionally, then it is acceptable. With this kid, it was done deliberately.

I was a teacher for 40 years. I can't remember farters but I'll tell you what I would have done. I'd write a letter to the parents and give the pupil a punishment which is in some way related to the offence. He produced something dirty, so the punishment should have to do with cleaning. I didn't allow chewing-gum in class. This would fall into the same category. I told the pupil in question to come in the afternoon when the classrooms were cleaned by the cleaners. I informed the boss of the cleaning group and told him to give the pupil a spatula/scraper and to scratch chewing gum off from underneath the desks where the pupils like to put it. I was lucky that the headmaster agreed with my ideas., I've never had a complaint from parents, either. On the contrary. They often told me that they agreed with me.

I always hated it when my Brother is doing that. We always argue about his bad attitude. It is not nice to just blow it inside the room or inside the house. But he doesn't have manners, he is even an illiterate.
