Murderous Tuesday: Severed Head

United States
January 8, 2019 11:16am CST
Imagine being a young child, having just got off the school bus only to discover a severed head. That's what happened in Pennsylvania several years ago. The head belonged to a middle aged woman. Forensics were able to tell that she was from around that area, and that she had been taking medication for heart failure. The head had been embalmed, rubber balls such as those found in gumball machines were used as eyes. This embalming was not professionally done. Her body has not been found. As far as I am aware, nobody has come forward to identify her, and no funereal can identify her either. Police think her organs were likely used in some sort of black market scheme. There was evidence that she had moved around in the past several months. It was assumed that perhaps she had been in the care of several family members. I am having trouble with pages loading, I am sure there's more to this case than just what I've retold. You'll have to read the article for yourself to find out. That poor woman.
The severed head was found by a boy who was walking in the woods in Economy, about 15 miles northwest of Pittsburgh, on December 12, 2014.

As horrid as this is, I am not surprised. RIP the poor woman. How horrific for that child.

Now that would be a pretty shocking find wouldn't it? Especially if you were a kid, I am sure the discovery of a head would give you nightmares.

I wonder if the boy didn't experience a sense of shock, awe and weird fascination. I am sure he had nightmares irregardless. Boys can stomach things better than girls. I am just glad a little girl had not found it.

Yes and no. Yes, because it appears our world has lost it's sense of decency and morals. No, because I also wonder how many stories like this we simply don't hear about it. How much of this is actually new and how much of this has been going on for ages.
