I was thinking about my quote diary

I was thinking about how I had not added a quote to it in sometime. The last book I read had one or two quotes that I sort of liked. One I even shared here. However, I am not sure if I want to write it in my quote diary. I haven't come across a quote in this book that has really stood out to me. My quote diary is for quotes that made me laugh, made me cry or made me think. Maybe a combination of the three. Now that I think about it, there was a scene in this book that made me want to cry. Of course it was a scene and not a direct quote. Hmm, maybe I should start a scene diary. Do you write down quotes from books and movies you like?

@ScribbledAdNauseum I need to go through all the journals I have and throw the ones away I don't need anymore.

I have a notebook where I write my favorite quotes and short poems that I liked. Sometimes I read them again. I used to have 3 notebooks full of quotes, but I decided to make a new notebook. In my new notebook I only keep the best quotes.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Sometimes I forget to use my notebook. I saw a great quote in a library book, but I was just flipping through the book and I don't remember the name of the book anymore, so I can't find it again.

@Porcospino That is rather annoying. I do hate when I do something like that.

Mine is a hardback joural. I feel like I am less likely to throw it away. I'd probably throw a regular notebook (like school children use) out.

I don't keep a notebook for just quotes but if I find one I like, I'll copy it inside another folder or binder I have to see it again.

I would personally end up losing a quote that way. I like my little hardback journal. I am going to keep it amongst my books so I don't lose it. I want to fill this one up and then get another and keep at this.

@noni1959 That sounds like a good plan. I am trying to be rather minimalist myself but the books keep growing. Is your mini-cab like a tiny house? The ones built on trailers?

@ScribbledAdNauseum I had journals for different things but I've gone minimalist and been condensing. Right now I have a nice huge bucket list book my daughter got me that I fill in pages, a journal for my mini cabin being built and one for my budget and misc stuff I write down.

I don't know, it was just something I thought of doing. I started it sometime last year, maybe in September or October? It's a hardbacked journal. I guess it was also a way for me to keep track of books I especially liked. In case I sold them or they were otherwise misplaced.

I was thinking of starting a series of some of my favorite book quotes but I don't have nearly enough recorded yet. Perhaps I can still do it, just sparingly. I just recorded one today after saying I didn't have one. How do you keep yours? In a notebook?

@CarolDM Not a bad idea. I would probably lose the document somewhere or else forget about it. Plus I like the hardback diary I have for my quotes. I can't wait to fill it up and get another.

When I was younger, much younger, I used to keep a notebook full of quotes that I loved. But do not do this anymore.

Oh I used to write down quotes lilke that as well, or print them out. This is a hardback journal. Talking to Courage down below, I realized that honestly it serves to purposes. It will make me smile reading through them again, and if I ever get rid of a book, I can look at this little notebook and perhaps remember the title of the once loved book.

I have a few quotes that I love written down somewhere. Oh, Pinterest! And Facebook. When I was a youngster I used to write quotes on paper and draw around them.

Yes, I used to write quotes down that way as well. I'd make little squiggles around mine but I wasn't a very good artist. I stay away from pinterest as it tends to suck me in for hours at a time.
