Not sure what vehicle to buy

So I been thinking about a new car. My car is about 8 years old and still runs fine but just been thinking about getting a new car. I been tossing the idea of a pickup truck for a while now and kind of like the Toyota Tacoma. I don't like spending a bunch of money on vehicles. Right now I own a Kia Soul, it was cheap and has a bit of cargo room in the back so that is why I got it. When i get a vehicle I am not buying it to impress anyone, I get it based on price and practical use for me. I scuba dive with my son quite a bit and need the room for our gear. I drive about 30 miles one way to work 5 days a week so gas mileage is kind of important. I also go camping and need room for the gear. So I don't need a big truck but also a sedan is not going to work. As I said I like the Tacoma, I also looked at the Kia Niro and the Hyundai Kona. The Niro and Kona are small SUV's and are cheaper and get better gas mileage. Finding them made me choice so much harder now cause the savings and mileage does make a big difference in my mind. I like the idea of the 4 wheel drive on the Tacoma, but the Kona I believe is all wheel drive (AWD) but I think the Niro is only front wheel drive. Well I'm thinking March or April of getting the car so I have some time to do more research. Maybe I will have made up my mind by then. What do you think? Do you know anything about these vehicles?
