Getting Back In The Groove

Hello everyone and so glad I'm finally back on myLot. I found I had a hard time getting back in the groove after the holidays. Did my visiting and had a good time- although very peaceful.
Hope all of you also enjoyed it. I do love Christmas although I find each year it takes me a little longer to get into it. I am also trying to downsize all the old decorations to narrow things down for storage. There is not a lot of room in this condo.
However I did make some decisions rather than resolutions this year to really eat more fresh fruits and vegetables and just generally try to be healthier. I do eat a fair share of veggies and fruit but not enough UNCOOKED where you get the benefit of them cleaning and nourishing your system.
I have done better even this year in the healthy food category but not as much as I'd like. Here's hoping that DECIDING will work better than just a repetitive RESOLUTION.
Also decided to walk more and move more which I have already started. Here's hoping all your New Year's DECISIONS take a good hold on you too. If you've noticed I haven't given up chocolate or wine so I guess I'm still allowed to have some fun. Haha!

@LadyDuck Yes, and I'd like to lose a bit of extra weight and that is always healthy.

I've already begun eating mostly raw veggies with some type of dip like hummus, guacamole or cream cheese. And, I've begun going back to Planet Fitness twice weekly for some time on the treadmill and working certain muscle groups. I've gained weight since being off work and am hoping the changes will improve things, but it's not going as well as I wanted, but maybe I'm gaining muscle and losing some fat and it will show on the scale one of these days.
I've not seen you about much in a long time, maybe the days you're visiting someone else I know aren't the days that I've read through more comments on a page.

@MarymargII Well my more active days are coming to a close. I've been off work since November to get a wound healed and now that it's healed I need to head back to work. The plan for that is the following Sunday. I'll still be around, but not as much as in recent months, maybe. It all depends on whether I decide to come here or play a game or ten...

@MarshaMusselman Hope that wound is really healed well. How did your knee replacement turn out- I do remember you had that done.

I haven't been very active as well as I don't see your name pop up every time. But I hope to be a little more active now so hope I bump into you again soon!

Welcome back! I've been here but not here a lot. Let's all find our groove again!
Decisions - yes, I like that! There are just too many things on my unofficial list - knowing me, with resolutions I just might be disappointed by summer - so I just don't make those resolutions. I've just been easing into certain "decisions" - that has my new year run a lot more smoothly (and be less stressful!).
Happy New Year and best of luck with your "decisions" - I have similar ones

@MarymargII Oh, I'm all for that - the occasional indulging
. I do think that's ok - as long as it doesn't get out of hand (and that has happened to me many times before!). Yes, I want to stay focused to complete things rather than spreading myself thin. And yes, this "no" business and standing up for myself has certainly feels good!

@much2say Yes a little indulgence is great and makes life worthwhile sometimes plus I'm doing more exercise so hope it all balances out!

I was planning on walking today, but the winds put a stop to that. After moving back from Winnipeg, I thought that weather was behind me!! Apparently not!! Here's hoping for tomorrow!!

@MarymargII Yes, they did. I need to get back into it. I cheated a little over Christmas and gained a little bit back, but I'll lose it again.

It does really make a difference- I feel better if I'm active- and the fruits and veggies also help!
