Will be spending Valentine's Day in Dominican Republic

This Valentine's Day my husband and I are leaving to Dominican Republic. But it's to attend a wedding of my husband's friend and not specifically to celebrate Valentine's Day. Doing that would be weird. While I don't like the fact that we are going because of how much money it's costing us, it is a little exciting because I don't think I've ever spent Valentine's Day surrounded by palm trees and clear blue waters and with a significant other. We are going for about five days, so it's like a mini vacation of sorts... It will be the first time we ever traveled together internationally. My next international getaway hopefully will be Paris, France.

Enjoy this getaway and try not to think too much on the expenses of it. I hope you both enjoy your time together, and maybe you'll find a valentine's style trinquet to bring home as well.

@lovebuglena Yes, that is what I meant. The money has essentially been spent already so there's no need to dwell on it.

Hard not to think about the cost though when it's costing us over three grand. But I will try to not let it get to me and spoil my getaway.

Oh nice, you get to go to your friend's wedding, and it will double as vacation. Enjoy!

It will definitely be something new and different. I hope that we will be celebrating V Day by dining just the two of us and not with the rest of the people we know that are also attending the wedding. I want it to be an intimate thing.

Thanks! I am not a fan of the heat or lying on the beach all day and under the hot sun... but I guess sometimes you have to do it, especially if your significant other wants that type of a getaway. I hope we are going to have a good time. I've never been to a wedding in the Caribbean.
