The Indy Hunger Network which began operations in 2017 has this way of avoiding leftover food to be sent by trucks to landfills, has found a way to use leftover food from grocery stores that is edible to be used by food banks in Indianapolis.
The truck take the leftover food to the many food banks in the region that is used to feed the people in their area that need the food.
The Food Drop Program is hoping to expand their business outside of Indiana since food that can saved in one region is useful for other regions as well.

As this time with the political climate as it is, it would be wise for other states to save food that is not sold by stores to the food banks.

A very worthwhile idea but it is sad that food banks are necessary!
