I Think I Should Get the Idiot Prize for the Week, Please Don't Try This at Home

I was going to ask who can figure out a sort of riddle (of who am I) by reading between the lines, but instead it looks like I'm sharing about my recent two hours. I have two nails with tears half way down the nail and someone at work puts superglue on her nails when that happens. I've been skittish about doing that for obvious reasons, but I did do it a few weeks ago without any problems, so I found the super glue to do those two nails tonight.
After picking up the small tube I realized one side was a little goopy. I didn't really think it was glue, but water, but nope, my thumb was stuck on fast right after I applied the glue to my nails. While balancing the tube against my thumb to look for something to unglue it, my finger stabilizing the tube also stuck on tight.
We called ER and they said a lot of finger nail remover would do the trick. So, thankfully, my daughter had a new bottle not yet opened. First I poured some into a paper bowl and after about half an hour the stabilizer finger loosened. I then poured it into a plastic cup as my hand was getting tired and I'm going to guess it's been about 45 mins to an hour and my thumb finally came apart from the glue tube. In the future, I will pick it up with kleenex to make sure it's dry before trying this again.

@MarshaMusselman Those kind of accidents happens. I am careful with glue, it can make such a mess. Which odd riddle?

I already redid my two nails after all of this last night. But, I made sure to grip the tube with kleenex first just in case.
Did you see my odd riddle, Anna?

@LadyDuck I was trying to make it a bit difficult to figure out who wrote this post. Course, I can't change my actual name, like you can't change LadyDuck, but you could call yourself Mildred or something other than Anna and change your residence and avatar, and maybe mess someone up for a bit.
It was a sort of test between me and responsiveme/Arm. Although, I've been confused a few times with our friend from Germany changes here place of residence even without changing her name or avatar.

I figured I should have something in the house to work with and already had the polish remover out before calling ER. When they said it took a lot of acetone but it would work I knew it may not happen quickly. The first finger came off fairly quick that I was wondering after quite a bit of time whether I would need to go to ER after all. But hubby didn't mind waiting longer before making that decision and eventually it began loosening.
The first finger not being as glued down I gently hit it against the bowl to move the acetone around it better and that made it easier to see whether it was working or making progress. The first finger/thumb that attached had a larger area glued and there was no give at all. After me and the hubs discussed things I began gently tapping that finger against the cup hoping that would allow the fluid to get closer. It took a bit to before it began doing any good and I didn't know that it was until it popped off.
My husband was worried about what cups I might use and have to throw away. I figured it was cheaper than a visit to ER.

@MarshaMusselman I'm glad you got them unglued and didn't need to go to the ER. Yes, a lot less expensive.

Forgive me for laughing but I have done this more than once and once I had to use a razor knife to just slice between the tube and my thumb!! They do have real nail glue which works well and isn't quite like super glue.

@BelleStarr In the future I plan on picking the tube up with a kleenex just in case.

I hope you didn't razor off part of your fingerpad? That sounds like an awful way to go, Iz. If you have time to wait, and the time it takes to get it off at home is shorter than the waiting you'd have at ER is to use finger nail polish.
I will have to look for the nail glue. We probably sell that too where I work, I just never thought to look before.
Did you laugh at all at my 'disguise'? Kind of hard to hide among friends, but I tried.

I certainly hope not. Course, that wasn't my intention this time around either.

Some glue tubes are like that and one has to be careful when using it. Good thing the ER knew the remedy.

We were already in the process of using the acetone, but just in case we were missing it, I wanted to be sure. Didn't want to waste my time on the process if they knew it couldn't be done at home. And, talking to them I discovered that it would take longer for it to work.

That's what I'm saying, not much of a riddle unless someone is half asleep. But, we're not all awake when we're here that's why half of us drink coffee and there's only so much you can change unless you want to start completely over again, and I'm not jj.
You also were warned, so it shouldn't have been too awful hard.

I just realized you did a bit of a pun there with your first sentence. Sneaky.

@MarshaMusselman he he ,I did.
The other thing apart from the warning is that we talk often so I do know you better than some random user maybe.
Having said that there are people who I look for and wonder if they have come back under a totally new avatar +the rest.
The bit after@ remains the same doesn't it?

@responsiveme v yes and that's rather obvious... Shifting to my desktop or not gotta wake it up.
That was the hard part and since I've been more active here recently more will realize. But we do also get used to the avatar so maybe it will give a few pause
