Elsie Frost was fatally stabbed on her way home in 1965. She chose to take a different route than her friends, avoiding muddy patches so that her new shoes would not get ruined. Her path would take her under rail lines. She was stabbed five times. Once in the hand, twice in the head and back. One of the knife wounds would pierce her heart, ultimately killing her. She was able to stumble down the ABC stairs (aptly named as there are 26 of them) and collapse. This happened between 3:50 and 4 pm. Fifteen minutes later a man would come across as he was walking with his young children.
The parents died without ever finding closure. Family of Elsie demanded the case be re-opened in 2015. In March of 2018 the prime suspect died. A new inquest is being made.

Yes, as am I. That's sort of why I've started this series twice a week. I think people should be talking more about these cases. These lives that were snuffed out and their murderer never found.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I agree with you, people should be more concerned about those case never solved. I cannot believe how is it that so many murderers were never found.

@LadyDuck I agree. Espcially that some of these unsolved cases are only a few decades old. The forensic technology has been there for years and only continues to improve. I think that there should be more people hired on just to focus on cold cases. Perhaps a group of trained individuals who travel across a country and work on cold cases. To be honest, I would also watch a show dedicated to something like that.

It seems bad things happen to young kids when they take those short cuts! I have heard of a few different cases like that.

Yes, I've heard of things like this happening as well. An old park trail that leads them closer to their home, a path on the side of a lake that isn't heavily trafficked. I think of this story and think about such paths I know of in my community, the same ones I've traversed 1000 times before.

Wow!! So sad. I often wonder how people that do something like this can keep quiet and live with themselves

I think most of them have something loose in their head, unfortunately.

This is a sad story and it's a shame that nobody but Elsie will ever know who the real killer was, or why she was killed. It will be speculation for ever more.

@CarolDM I get into them every once in awhile. Right now I am into horror stories that I'm listening to on youtube. Another 'lotter told me about them.

This is so tragic... Especially not getting the closure makes it harder
