Our Family Doctor Advises Me To Be Physically Active To Live Long!

Whether we like it or not, we can never stop or even delay "AGEING" (American English - AGING). Years seemed to have passed so fast. I was just chasing girls years ago, now I feel like I am chasing my breath. I am now a senior! Our life is similar to a car. When we are young, we are like a brand-new car with nothing or just very few mechanical problems. When we reached middle-age; just like cars, more health problems occur. When we turned 60 (senior), we are like an old Ford Model with a number of mechanical problems. But unlike an old car, which we can just discard and buy a new one; we cannot buy a new human body to replace our old body. However, we can attain long life by being physically active, eating health foods, and living a healthy lifestyle. I had my yearly physical check up done last week. Our family doctor assured me that I am healthy. Blood pressure - normal. Cholesterol - normal. She again advised me to keep physically active and eat lots of fruits, vegetables, fish (salmon/sardines), and less processed meat. Actually, I work out regularly. She further reminded me not to smoke, drink alcohol, and not to eat salty foods. How about you? When was the last time you had a physical check up? (Photo of fruits - from Pixabay)

I keep an eye on my physical situation every day. Do you think that is good enough?

I am not sure . . But here in Canada, seniors are advised to undergo physical check (urine, stool, ecg, et al) once a year. I do it every 6 months as recommended by our family physician. It is free here.

Surely everyone knows this by now, but some choose to ignore it.

I was about to ask if being sexually active makes a man live long; but I felt shy. Our family doctor is a pretty lady..

”When was the last time you had a physical check up?” When I started talking about the good old days. I’d like to think that I ain’t old yet but the side effects of aging sometimes is undeniable.
