TRUST & CONFIDENCE: Have you ever been trusted fully from a strange friend?

I met a stranger from Canada, a tourist, a Lebanese Canadian citizenship who happened to trust me (unexpectedly). I was the first Filipino friend he met when I picked him up at the airport. I used to drive an Uber car before when I picked him up at the airport. We were together since day one of his two weeks vacation. Aside from visiting our city, he was scouting for a place which he was planning to invest his money for dockyard business.
We failed to find that elusive piece of lot he wanted for two weeks until he went back home. A couple of months since his vacation, he called me up and asking a favor if I could look for him a potential place for his dreamed business. That was the beginning of the FULL trust and confidence he gave to me. After a year of looking, I finally found one. He bought the property after a long period of time searching and a few months of negotiating the owner while he was still working at that time in Canada, at US$135,000. Now, the business is going on progress. He was able to form a Corporate Company in our city while he is still at Canada. This is the greatest and unforgettable achievement of my life achieved because of the unconditional trust and confidence given to me from an alien friend of mine while he is most of the time working at his home country.

He was lucky. He could have end up with a scammer or robber at that. Filipinos like you should be on every news to inspire people and not Robbed them.

hi rebel_woman ..good evening...yes..I decided to post this kind of discussion because there are lots of foreign nationals and even our own countrymen who were a victims of these opportunists and scammers. They dont care about the others whom they did this kind of bad activities for they were just thinking and securing only of themselves. They dont mind at all. This bad activities demerit us filipinos in terms of tourism industry in our country. If we could just take care and love this foreign nationals and even our own countrymen, the more our country could benefits the influx of tourist from different countries. Trust and confidence play an important role in our society so much more that we are known for our being very hospitable people. Thanks for responding anyway...good night and sweet dreams...

That is a very inspiring story. It's very rare to earn trust even from your own relatives and friends. He is a lucky guy for finding somebody like you and you are also lucky that you have met this person.

He's lucky to find someone like you. Nowadays, there are a lot who take advantage of the trust given to them. That's why it is hard to give full trust to strangers, and sometimes even to those who you think you already know. It's good he didn't meet those bad guys.

Hi pareng Arnold good evening, yes you are right. Money is always a temptation becuase if you have lots of money you can do almost everything. But for me temptation is not really a sin, it can only be a sin once you will be tempted. I always be careful because my self reputation and dignities are at stake once these will be destroyed you ruin everything in your life....thanks for responding pare...good night..

A friend of mine shared the same story last month. His Australian boss gave him a much better offer, he jumped from being his employee to business partner. His employer(based in Australia) decided to put up a business in Cebu and my friend was task to lay the groundwork. Of course, he agreed right then and there. I was very happy for him. Such a blessing.
And to you, too.

Very nice of you to have offered help with him and gave your time and effort to assist him with his plans to invest in our country. Inam just curious about how the company was organized here. Was there a Filipino counterpart that was assigned to manage the business? Or you have become the partner already?

That man is lucky to have found you. In all honesty it is never easy to trust someone. There are lots of scammers around online or offline world. We still have to be careful who are we going to trust.

It is really amazing how you find people like this. Trust must be shown vice versa and its amazing how you find a nobody and begin to trust each other. I'm sure he has benefitted from you and you can also benefit from him. And up to this point you are already more than just business partners and are now friends. You are lucky you have met someone like him.
I wished I could meet someone like him a foreigner. I know they will be helpful in the future , just to be honest.
