Do you say soda, pop or soda pop? / myLot

I heard one time people call it different things depending on where they live. I was born and raised in Oklahoma and have lived in Missouri for the past 10 years and i call it SODA.

It depends. Soda and coke even if it's a Pepsi.

we say/call them softdrink here, but yes, there have been times people use 'coke' as the generic name, just like 'colgate' for toothpaste.

Soda is Soda water. Pop is most common, soft drinks is used as well. But I would never use the term soda to mean I want a pop. Alberta

We call them by their brands but we also say softdrink

As a kid, it was always pop. And then as a teen, the word chanced to soda!! More sophisticated I guess lol!!

I never really thought about it, I guess a soda....I usually just call them by their names though lol.
