Do you like eating durian?

I am not sure if it's the season of durian now, but I can see durians selling everywhere here in Malaysia. There's a durian stall just beside the street when we turned into our housing area. My husband said he saw it everyday when he passed by and he was very tempting to buy the durian, and finally he bought 4 durians last night as our supper. Though the durians he bought are not first grade, I think they are all quite nice. I haven't been eating durian for quite some time, perhaps a year. Though I like eating durian once in a while, I am not really fond of eating it as I always fall sick or get headache after I eat durian. Well, I did get headache after I ate a few pieces of durian last night, so I just stopped eating. I am glad my husband and kids enjoyed eating the durian, and they felt okay. Another reason I don't really like eating durian sometimes is that it's actually very smelly. When I am eating the durian, I think it tastes good, but I still don't really like the smell. The smell of durian stays for quite long, and that's something I don't really enjoy. Have you tried eating durian? Do you like it?

The durian in your country is famous. I didn't like them when I was a child. But I like them when I grow up. What a strange change

I understand that. I didn't like it when I was a child too, I started to eat it when I was older. My eldest son is like this too. I think the aroma is too strong, and not many people like it at the beginning. Perhaps after we tasted it, we started to like it, though I still don't really like the strong aroma.

@kaka135 The men in my side don't like durian. My dad, husband and son also don't like it. This is why I hardly buy durian

I have never tried it myself, I am not one of those people who is scared of eating something unusual, but everyone I have ever known that has tried durian has said "YUCK" so I don't have a strong desire to try it lol. Even my husband who loves eating exotic fruit, has said it was just not good at all. But hey, that just means more durian will be out there for the people who actually like it

I have never heard of it. Is it a fruit? If it bothers you that much when eating it maybe just let your husband eat it instead so you don't have to suffer with with sick and a headache!

It is one of my favorite fruits and don't mind the smell. I wish I could get them here but they are hard to find. I find the taste amazing.

If the fruit itself I really don't like it, but if it's made a cake, I really enjoy it.

I really like durian, it smells pungent but appetizing, coupled with delicious white sticky rice

I'm fine with durian, the smell does not bother me, I also like durian candies, the only thing is they are a little expensive here in Metro Manila cause they grow in the southern Philippines, Mindanao in particular

I have heard that it is very smelly. It might be the smell that is making you nauseous. In Singapore, it is forbidden to take durians in taxis, elevators and some hotels ban it too.
