She Made Her Own Twiglets

After watching a Christmas episode of Mr. Bean, our daughter decided to make her own Twiglets... yes, she loves Marmite. Okay, she didn't use the twigs that Mr. Bean used... she dipped pretzels in the jar. Waste of pretzels if you ask me. ;) She did admit that they were no big deal... but I can't think of how many marmite sandwiches she has made herself over the years. At least no one ever asks to share her lunch. ;)
Never understood how anyone could eat the stuff... you must have to be at least half British.

LOL... the stuff is nasty! Just too bad that it is a wonder food. I even read that it will help reduce wrinkles. Wasn't enough. By the time I had read about it, I had already tasted it. But, it wouldn't surprise me. ;)

@noni1959 That is what I was thinking too. I don't think that I could keep the stuff down even if I decided to give it another try. ;)

I hadn't until I was visiting my boyfriend's parents house and they asked me if I wanted some. Of course I was trying to make a good impression so I said yes. I have never tasted anything like it. you can't get rid of the taste!! It lingers and linger and lingers. I went on to marry that guy and of course he brought his own jar of marmite when he moved in. Our first son was eating marmite on toast as one of his first foods. I still had to hold my breath when I was spreading it on his toast. Same thing for our daughter. She loves it too... the twiglet story lol...

I think that is is simply sold here for all the Brits... can't think of a Canadian who would have been exposed to it.

Head to any supermarket. And they don't have the tiny jars we have here, there jars are about 5 times the size of ours, because we bought one and it was all used up too!! :)

My kids lived on Vegemite which is pretty close to Marmite. They had it in their school lunches for years. Every time I used something else they'd ask if they could have Vegemite next day.
