Have you ever had the opportunity to do volunteer work?

I haven't had this chance yet (I have some friends who have already done this), but I know that when I have it, I'm going to enjoy it a lot. Today I watched a TV show talking about this type of work and I find it incredible how much people can grow (as human beings better) and help others with purity of heart (without major interests, especially financial).
Have you ever experienced anything like this? Or have you ever met someone who did this kind of work?

I do it when I can and enjoy doing it! We often volunteer to work at benefits or walks that benefit people and/or organizations!
