Recently a Hannaford Supermarket that is located in West Lebanon New Hampshire experienced a cash register computer crash that could have been an ugly incident for the supermarket. The manager of the Hannaford Supermarket wanted to keep the customers happy by allowing all of the shoppers who were in line to leave with their groceries free of charge since the repairs of the cash registers that are run by computers would take about one hour. Even though the supermarket would give away around $3,000 to $5,000 dollars, the goodwill of allowing the customers leave with their food for free due to circumstances beyond their control will gain more customers in the near future.

I am amazed as well since the last thing the grocery store wanted was to deal with a huge headache of having to deal with angry shoppers who would have to wait for at least one hour to get service inside the market.

@Deepizzaguy I'm thinking that now who will bear the loss. The company or the manager?

@amitkokiladitya I guess the company since they probably gave the order to the manager to let the customers take the groceries home free of charge.

Smart move by the manager of the super market since giving shoppers a break under the current problem was great for business.
