I seem to be drawn to a particular individual here at the shelter. It's not a romantic connection, I would never stray from my husband no matter how long he might be gone. But this person is of the opposite sex, and so that makes it difficult. How close is too close? And what do I make of this electricity I seem to feel? I think part of it is because he also suffers from mental illness, and I seem to be drawn to those kinds of energy. The troubled soul. He talks to the voices in his head and I have a curious and stubborn nature to figure out how it all comes together. I have to tread lightly, I don't want to give the wrong impression, and I have to keep my own head in check. It's always been a challenge of mine, I've never had many female friends, always "one of the guys". It was so much easier when I was a kid. The rules change as we get older, but here in the shelter it's a bit different. Nobody makes fun of me for being a kid at heart, as a matter of fact, for many it's my most endearing character trait. I make them smile, somebody even called me a fireball tonight. I like that. Fireball, fireball burning bright. Chasing dreams, I shine my light Come with me, let's run let's play Forget the past, your hurt and rage Go ahead, just turn the page Create your future Build on hope, and love Pause Don't stop

Meeting someone who gives you joy is always a good thing. Of course you would surely know the limits if you love and is committed to your partner.
