The shop is closed now

I wrote my last post few months ago. That time a new shop opened here and I helped a lot. It was a second hand shop. It was full of clothes and bags. But it bankrupted in a very short time. It closed and now the owners are trying to be successful doing another business. I feel sorry for the second hand shop, because I think it could be successful. As a new business, it didn't make enough profit. I guess it would have changed in a few months, but the owners decided to not continue.

Before starting a business you must have enough money to be sure to cover all the expenses for at least 6 months. A new stores needs to be known before being successful.

@anikoonline Most stores need one year before being profitable. You are right it's a lot of money.

@LadyDuck I often think of having an own business, but then I think of how much money it would need and how risky it is.

Here it is at least 1 year, the new businesses normally start to make profit in the second year. Well, it takes a lot of money 'till it starts being successful.

What is the reason? Is it not enough customers? Competition lowering the selling price?

Not enough money to survive the first few months. And here it is not a good business to sell used clothes. We can buy new clothes very cheaply when there are sales. Sometimes the second hand stores are more expensive than the normal shops.

Maybe they didn't have enough revolving funds in the first place.

Yes, they told this when the shop closed. It was very risky to start this without enough funds.

Yes, it takes a lot of time to make a successful business. And people need a lot of money 'till the business can make profit.

Doing businesses is a challenge. It's like a gamble also.

Yes, it is. I've never had any business, because I think I am not brave enough to this challenge and its risks are too high for me.
