Phil's Not Very Accurate

This time is only the 19th time (out of 123) that Punxsutawney Phil has not seen his shadow. Ben Hughes and John Griffiths are his "handlers" and they say he did not see it. He has actually been wrong 61 percent of the time. Not very good, huh? In Columbia, South Carolina he has been accurate about 36 percent of the time since 1950. Of course it only makes since. If you see a lot of groundhogs out and about it only makes sense that his eternal clock is telling him spring is on the way.

It's fun to hear about his predictions, even if they aren't accurate. He does as well as the weatherman.

Mother Nature is rather fickle anyway.
