I am more and more convinced that some of us that suffer from mental illness also have the ability to use a portal in our minds that can sense the surreal. I seem to have the ability to sense the energy that surrounds people. I've connected with someone who is a paranoid schizophrenic. He talks to the friends in his head, and I started to understand him a few days ago. Like really understand. And we were talking a little bit ago and he "checked out" for a minute. And then apoligized. Without thinking I said, "I know. I can tell." I'm not sure if it was fear or relief. When we met a few months ago he told me he wanted me to write about him. But we never actually sat down for me to hear his story. Perhaps he knew somehow that I would already know it, and that perhaps it wasn't one to be written, he just needed someone else to know. I've been restless the last few days, and I have also developed quite the attachment to him. I have to be careful here, friendships with the opposite sex can be quite sticky.
