Did you ever try to cook something with perfection but it got spoiled instead?

Today, I cooked butter chicken. I think, by mistake I added salt twice and the dish became too salty.. I love butter chicken and was so sad when I checked the salt. I think, I had already added salt when my mom came to the kitchen to know something and I forgot after she left. I added salt again (I think) after adding yogurt and tasted it.. It was too salty. I was upset but my mom said.. it's ok.. Sometimes it happens.. Did you ever try to cook something with perfection but it got spoiled instead?

That has happened to me, too. If you put in raw sliced potatoes, it will help absorb some of the extra salt. Once I made a pear and pistachio tart, which took me hours, and when I took it out of the oven, it slide off my pan and onto the floor. . Good thing I made two.

When there is excess salt slice potatoes and add in .. take them after 15 minutes or so. I think I am like a robot these days. I just cook without tasting they come out alright. experience I guess.

@Sheali I made rice once and it never cooked. I used to have a pressure cooker but one time it did not use. Now, I use a pot to cook it in.

Yes, I do this all the time as I have a really terrible memory of how to cook things. I twice forgot the sugar in my cakes. I often get the quantities of things wrong and end up with a terrible mess.

I cooked noodles twice and both times I made it bland due to inadequate addition of salt. I am getting the hang of it slowly, though.

I did it once but save it to even better tasting dish. It was also chicken and the same with your case. It was a one huge pan of chicken cuts. I can't estimate how much salt should I put to that cooking so I just added more salt in it. And it really taste very salty. I don't want to throw the whole thing and gone to waste so I added sugar in it.

@Sheali I've made a few mistakes here and there I'm sure but nothing comes to mind right now. I'm sorry you accidentally added too much salt but as your mum said, it sometimes happens.
