What a Night!!!

What's the old saying? Things often come in threes? Well they certainly did last night.
Having had a friend over for the day it took Adam and me a little time to unwind so Adam went upstairs to play online games with friends from Germany and the US and I stayed down to watch The Voice and a dancing competition called The Greatest Dancer. It was probably about 1.00 am when we went to bed and we were soon asleep.
About an hour later we were awoken by crashing and banging outside. We live in a village which is very quiet so it woke us up with one hell of a start. Adam got out of bed and looked out of the window to see a white van at the house opposite unloading furniture! The previous occupants had been a couple in their 60's who lived with their son, Gareth, who was our village postman. Unfortunately, Gareth's dad had died and his mother had dementia and was in a care home so he decided to move into something a little smaller and rent out the house to bring money in to pay for the care home.
We'd noticed a couple taking things into the house during the day, but to be crashing around at 2.00 in the morning wasn't a great introduction to the local community!
At about 2.30 the noise stopped so we got back to sleep. At 3.15 our cat, Ollie (who you've probably already seen in one of my earlier posts) brought us in a nice little mouse. Thankfully the mouse was well and truly deceased so Adam got up and took it down the bottom of a very frosty garden in his shorts. He came in giggling saying he hoped our next door neighbour, Helen, hadn't been looking out of her bedroom window as she would have had a shock!!
So, half an hour or so later, we were asleep again but I woke up at about 5.30 to the sound of our other cat, Dusky, being sick down in the lounge. So, down I go to clear it up and scrub the carpet. By the time I'd done that I was fully awake so made a cup of tea and decided to do a few surveys on my laptop. It's now 8.30 so decided to have my honey nut cornflakes and blueberries washed down with a hot cuppa and tell you about my awful night.
One good thing that's come out of it though, is that it's a clear, sunny day and the garden and meadow are glistening with frost but I must admit, I'd still rather have had more than four hours' sleep! Today can only get better ... can't it???

I have two. Ollie's got his pic on myLot (My Best Boy) if you want to see how gorgeous he is, and Dusky, who's a bit sickly but we took her from a rescue centre and we knew she may be difficult. She got a mention on myLot last weekend as we had to take her to the vet.

@olliesmum
I hope for your sake. That is just rude moving furniture early in the morning hours.
