Here is a big question that lots of people ask. Do you wash by hand all your dishes before putting it in the dishwasher if you have a dishwasher or no you don’t you places them in and run that sucker? Me I’m a bit of a crazy mom not always this is just one of my crazy and I know I’m not the only one because I was raised seeing this. Most people just place the dishes in and run it when it gets full. Now yes the dishwasher gets pretty darn hot to the point it kills off germs and will remove a bunch of dirt and stuff from your dishes. But as a mom I know my kids get a lot food that either sticks or leave there plates sitting for a bit before t makes it was to the kitchen and into the dishwasher. I wash everything by hand or at least rinsed them off before placing them in the dishwasher washer. Anything with like milk, syrup, ketchup or whatever I rub it under the hot water rinse it off and places in dishwasher if the plate is pretty clean or cup I just put it in. Once the dishwasher is full I turn it on. Some dishes I let sit in warm soap water for a little bit then places in the dishwasher that’s thing like pasta to help remove the food from the pot before placing it in the dishwasher.

I rinse off stuff but I don’t wash things. That is the dishwasher’s job.

That’s what some people. After having kids I’m like supper sanitizer with the dishes. Especially when they where on the bottles and supply cups. You had to scrub them, then wash them so make sure bacteria and mold wouldn’t grow.

@ShyBear88 I know that. I have a degree in biology. I’m just not a germophobe and don’t want to create resistant strains in my home.

@ShyBear88 Dixie´s husband says there´s no point in having a dishwasher as both Dixie and I do the same. But the dishes get completely clean and they get dry in the dishwasher.

I wash most pots and pans by hand. I rinse off plates, bowls and cutlery. I have a glass that I regular change out. It's a glass that someone has recently used to drink out of. I rinse it out well and then put silverware into it. I have an electric kettle. I boil water and place the boiled water into the glass. This sterilizes the cutlery and gets some tougher stains out (peanut butter, melted chocolate). I place the silverware into the dishwashwer once the cup gets full. I wash the cup again and place it into the dishwasher. I have to get after some family members who do not rinse their plate off before putting it into the dishwasher. They say "the dishwasher will clean it." I say that some stains remain and need to be cleaned off before they are allowed to set in.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I’ll have to look at it. The heat from the dishwasher damnages the metal. There are certain metals. They are my husband’s pick we have another set that I don’t use often any more.

The whole point of a dishwasher is to clean the dishes. But we do rinse cups, cereal bowls, and plates that have ketchup or bbq sauce on them before they go in.

Yeah some people don’t have them. I’m sure some where down the line it save money not having one but you have to be in the habit to wash them right away and let them dry or hand dry them.

@Happy2BeMe not really a desire to have it came with the house. Most house depend where you live have them. But there are still some homes or ones that are built to your own likely that don’t have them. It doesn’t have to be used. Some people I know only have pots and lands so that’s what goes in there dishwashers because there dishwesr is paper and silver wear is plastic so it can be recycled after used.

somethings you do have to at least rinse off,or it'll eventually clog the washer. but i'm not going to scrub them.

I'm kind of like you. I always rinse the dishes before I put them in the dishwasher because I don't want a lot of food clogging up the lines.

Washing dishes in big loads it also helps sterilize killing bad stuff off of dishes that just soap and water can’t kill.
